To be eligible, you must:
- Live in the ACT (excluding Jervis Bay)
- Rent privately through a real estate agent or private landlord
- Have a net household income at or below the NRAS income limits:
- First adult: $64,992
- Sole parent: $68,358
- Each additional adult: $24,865
- Each child: $21,562
- Have less than $5,000 in liquid assets
- Have lived at your current property for at least 3 months
Supporting documents required
After you submit your application, Care will send you a link to upload your documents. Please have the following ready:
- Photo identification for all adult applicants
- Lease, tenancy or occupancy agreement (or a statutory declaration if these are unavailable), including rent payment and contact details – private landlords may be required to supply additional supporting documentation.
- Proof of income for all income-earning applicants (for example, recent payslips, Centrelink Income Statement or BAS)
- Bank statements showing the last 30 days of transactions for all accounts held by income-earning applicants
- Arrears notice, notice to remedy or notice to vacate (if applicable)
